Dioramas

The Derby Street Diorama Museum is a community art project that integrates art into daily life and empowers everyone to be an artist. The museum encourages all people be active participants in the creation and appreciation of art, making this practice a part of daily life. Our guiding philosophy is that art a form of playful exploration which should be accessible to all.

The museum opened in early 2025 and is located in Berkeley. Visit the Derby Street Diorama Museum website to learn more or arrange to display your diorama.

Background

I love miniature worlds! During grad school I began creating miniature scenes in matchboxes as a way to have a completely analog experience that was not focused on productivity. Years later, while pregnant and in search of meditative activities, I picked up the hobby again and found that I enjoy it even more today.
